This wonderful song sung by members and missionaries throughout the world was first sung at the dedication of the Kirtland Temple. This song teaches all about the returning of priesthood powers lost from the earth! It’s a great song that teaches all about the restoration of Christ’s church!
Reproduce the 10 pages of this song onto heavier cardstock. Color and laminate for durability. Use two small pieces of magnetic strip on each of the upper back side corners. This makes placing on your magnetic chalkboard easy to do and quick to remove as well.
Choose to teach your song in phrase sections. Place the pictures #1 and #2 on the board first and sing that portion of the song to your children. Now have them sing that same part of the song with you and then add the piano and sing it again. Now do the same with the next two pictures and then sing all four pictures of the song together. Continue adding bits of the first verse and the chorus until they have been introduced to the entire song. Be sure to explain what some words or concepts mean as they learn this song. It's so important that the children understand what they are singing about! Once they have sung the entire song through, then start removing pictures that you feel they know well enough until they can sing the entire first verse and chorus without the aid of the visuals. Have fun and enjoy this historical song from our church history!
