In your Come Follow Me lesson it teaches about the importance of temples and that Jesus wants us all to prepare for the day that we will serve and work in the temple. This fun group bingo activity does just that! Divide your group into two teams. Create your own questions about temples from Come Follow Me and the teams take turns choosing a question, answering it, and then picking a picture from the bingo cards and placing it on the matching picture on the large bingo board. Points are received when various bingos are completed by a team. Have fun reviewing and learning more about why temples are so important for everyone!
Print the four pages that create the game board onto heavier cardstock. Color, cut out and line up as shown above, taping together along back seams. Laminate for durability. Print the individual picture cards onto regular weight paper. Color and cut them out. Cut a set of cards from colored cardstock that are at 3 1/4" square. Mount the individual picture cards onto the colored cardstock cards. Laminate for durability. use "sticky-back" Velcro to hold individual cards to bingo board when playing this activity.
Divide the group into two teams. The object of this game is to be the team with the most points at the end of the activity. Points are earned in the following way...each time the team answers a question correctly, they receive 1 (one) point. After answering the question, they pick a card from a sack without looking. They identify the picture and place it on the bingo board on the corresponding picture. If the card completes a row bingo, the team receives an additional 3 (three) points. If it does not complete any type of bingo, their turn is over and no additional points are received. If a team places a card on the bingo board that completes an "X" (corner to corner), they receive 5 (five) points. If they place a card on the board that completes a picture frame (all around the edges), they receive 5 (five) points. If they place a card on the board that completes a picture frame (all around the edges), they receive 5 (five) points. If a team places a card that can receive more than one point reward, they will receive only one reward and they can choose the highest one if that is an option. If they pick a "Lose 1 Turn" card, they lose that turn. Keep playing until all cards have been placed on the board or time is up. The questions to this game will be created by the leader doing this activity. Use the ideas in your "Come Follow Me" Manual concerning the topic about temples you are currently studying. Have fun and use this as a great teaching and reviewing tool with your children.
