As a missionary I used this fun activity all the time while teaching children. This fun game teaches the importance of needing all the steps in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each Child will take turns trying to jump from start to Jesus. They soon realize that Faith, Repentance, Baptism, and the Gift of the Holy Ghost are essential steps in reaching Jesus Christ. Children love actively trying to reach Jesus and it’s a wonderful way to help remember these four important steps.

How to Play

As missionaries we used this fun activity all the time while teaching children. This fun activity teaches the importance of needing all the steps in the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order to be with Him again. In your Come Follow Me Lesson it suggests showing pictures of faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Jesus Christ. We have provided those pictures in this activity. We start by placing the start card on the floor. It is a picture of earth where we all begin our journey. Then you place the picture of Jesus Christ on the other side of your room (about 10-12 feet away). You ask the children to reach Jesus Christ by themselves without stepping on the floor. They might try, but it can't be done. Teach them about faith and place it a foot or two away from the "Start" and leading towards Jesus Christ. Ask them if they can reach Jesus with only faith to step on and get you closer to Jesus. Again, it can't be done. Add "Repent", then "Baptism", and finally the "Gift of the Holy Ghost". Once we have all these important steps in our lives, we can easily step from picture to picture and reach our destination which is being with Jesus forever! This is a wonderful way to get the lesson's message across to younger children!
