What a perfect song for this topic! Each day we should ask ourselves that very question. Children can learn from this Primary song the importance of doing good for others just because it’s the right thing to do!
Story: “Lenny Shows Love to His Friend”
This cute story about kindness and showing love to others is perfect in teaching the children how great it makes Jesus feel when we do good things! Read this unique, fully illustrated story to teach your children the importance of doing good things because it will make you and Jesus very happy!
Activity Handout: “I Can Be Good and Do What I Should!”
This heart handout goes with your Come Follow Me suggestion about giving the children paper hearts and have them draw something good they can do. Now it’s already for you and for your family or classroom to use!
Game: “The Righteous Road”
This is a great game in teaching good and poor things we can choose to do! Players put their car on the START position and move forward. Each time they move, if they land on a “happy” face, they choose a slip from the “Right Choice” sack and read it. On their next turn they will move towards “Our Heavenly Home.” If they land on a “sad” face, they choose a slip from the “Wrong Choice” sack and read it. On their next turn they will move towards the “Lost and Lonely” place. First player to reach “Our Heavenly Home” is the winner! Children will have fun learning ways to make good choices and poor choices and how that makes them, Jesus, and others feel.
Game: “Worthy Workers” (Group Bingo)
In your Come Follow Me lesson it teaches about the importance of temples and that Jesus wants us all to prepare for the day that we will serve and work in the temple. This fun group bingo activity does just that! Divide your group into two teams. Create your own questions about temples from Come Follow Me and the teams take turns choosing a question, answering it, and then picking a picture from the bingo cards and placing it on the matching picture on the large bingo board. Points are received when various bingos are completed by a team. Have fun reviewing and learning more about why temples are so important for everyone!
